On October 26th, the University of Zagreb’s Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture, in collaboration with Vodoopskrba i odvodnja Cres-Lošinj d.o.o. (VOICL), participated in an #INSULAE event for the residents of Cres Island.

Titled “Place of Good Energy – Cres”, the gathering catered to attendees of all age groups, shedding light on solar power and guiding individuals on setting up their own solar installations.

The program culminated with a lecture at Moise Palace, covering the steps to establish a personal solar power plant and introducing the INSULAE project.

In addition, a meeting took place among representatives from the SDEWES Center, UNIZAG FSB, and VIOCL, focusing on the island’s sustainable transformation and potential green job opportunities. Researchers also took a trip to Lake Vrana, VIOCL’s energy facilities, and three high schools, where they held prenestations for students about the concept of smart islands.
